Gloveboxes with Integrated Laminar Flow System
Laminar flow (non turbolent flow) or unidirectional downflow,
is a principle to remove quickly particles (=Fast particle
removal = FPR-system) from the glovebox atmosphere by
using a vertical gas stream (from top to down of the system)
and high efficiency HEPA filtration.
A system with laminar flow or uni directional downflow
consists of very powerfull blower mounted on top of
the box in gas tight box extensions with integrated
high efficiency HEPA dust filters. Those blower create
a vertical (uni directional) downflow. The bottom of
the glovebox has a perforated base; under the perforated
plate, there is the return duct for the gas stream.
The system works in a continuous recirculation. In combination
with the MBRAUN gas purification system, the complete
inside workspace is particle-free without contamination
through oxygen and moisture.
MBRAUN systems with integrated laminar flow provide
clean Class 10 or better, depending on the total configuration
of the system.
